Adjumani
In spring 2016, a journalist colleague and I covered a story about the refugee situation in the Adjumani district of Northern Uganda. This district serves as an arrival point for many South Sudanese refugees fleeing hunger and violence caused by civil war. Our reporting focused on the refugee registration center, reception center, and settlement in the area

Many who arrive to the Elegu registration centre have traveled for weeks and are in poor physical and mental condition.

Mary Mudra, 23, fears the future. She hopes her four children will be able to attend a school in a camp where they were to be transferred soon.
